An EPR is a mandatory assessment required by the BC Strata Property Act for all strata corporations with 5 or more lots. It provides an overview of your building's current electrical capacity, peak demand, spare capacity, and projections for future needs including EV charging and heat pumps.

When is the deadline for my strata to get an EPR?

December 31, 2026 for Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, and Capital Regional Districts. December 31, 2028 for all other BC regions. New stratas have 5 years from the deposit of the strata plan.

Who is qualified to prepare an EPR?

For Part 9 Buildings: electrical engineer, applied science technologist, or licensed electrician. For Part 3 Buildings: electrical engineer or applied science technologist only.
